Alright Drakmor- If you'd like, we can work on your character over a chat system if you'd like. That's been more productive so far. So, if you use AIM, or gchat, or windows messenger we can work over that. However, if you'd prefer to work over posting on this just tell me. If you want to create over a chat messenger than send me your screen name in a PM.

Well, as I don't current have any sort of IM (other than the yahoo email one), I'll be working through posts. I'm thinking either a Eladrin, Elf, or Half-Elf Ranger or Rouge. I'm not really sure yet though.

Well, it's up to you to decide whatever you want to play most but I'll state some facts that may help sway the decision a little-
1. In the party already we have a cleric, and an undecided.
2.Eladrin- +2 Dex +2 Int Elf- +2 Dex +2 Wis Half-elf- +2 Con +2 Cha
3. Rangers use str, dex, and wis the most. Rogues use dex, str, and cha.
4. Both are strikers for the most part. Can dart in and do lots of damage, and with crippling effcts, but they're overall weaker healthwise.
5. Rogues use sneak abilities, pick locks, disarm traps, and fight dirty while the ranger prefers the bow, nature rituals, and can speak with animals.

Hey, do any species have stat penalties, as well? But ya, a striker type is what I'm looking for. Do rangers have any sort of stealth and melee weps?

No, racial stat penalties have been edited out, just bonuses.
Rangers do have the possibility to be made into two weapon fighters, blades and the like one in each hand, and have some stealth skills that are more survival based like tracking, and stalking- in more natural environments.

As it seems Sarah is leaning towards a rouge, I'll use a ranger. In 3.5 at least, don't rangers have an ability that lets them specialize in bow or dual weps? But would an Eladrin or Elf be better for ranger? If either is ok, I'm probably going to use Eladrin. Also, is there still preferred classs (*shivers*)?

I'm not going to tell you the best class/ race because I want you to be what you want to be most....and yes....they kind of have the ability to specialize in either or. Also, no, preffered classes have been edited out...I think.

Alright sweet. We'll get down to business- First off our next thing to do is abilities. We're using standard array to keep things easy. 4e standard array is 16, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10. I'm pretty sure you're familiar with the abilities- Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Charisma, Wisdom, and Intelligence. Eladrin have +2 dex, and +2 int. Rangers use mainly dexterity and wisdom with a good deal of strength on the side but don't be affraid to divert from the norm. We'll continue on after you've determined your ability scores.
