WAIT! Before you ditch me or think this is another stupid idea by yours truly, hear me out.
Alright, now that I have your attention I'll start properly. I am going to be running a new role playing game on Fanherad. This game will be based on the new Dungeons and Dragons 4 edition rules (For all you dice rpg nerds such as myself it is still using the d20 method used in the star wars books but it's actually simplified a bit I think).
HOWEVER, you do not need the rule book to play this game. In fact, I am designing it so that you don't even have to know the full rules or know when dice are rolled if you don't want to (Although it would help if you did)
What's going to happen is I'll have two threads. One will be for general rules. This will be stuff everyone will have to read and understand to play, while I'll also have an advanced rule thread where I will progressively teach you guys about the intracacies and dice roles. Honestly, even the advanced stuff isn't too difficult if taught correctly. In doing this I'm hoping to attract more players.
Now that we have some of that tech garble out of the way the rest of this introduction forum will be to express interest. Mind you this is NOT dedication, if you express any mild interest at all you can post it below, and then I'll continue to reveal more juicier details so you can more fully pledge yourself to the game.
Please, and thank you. By the way, anyone on the site is welcome!

Whoa, Taylor. Did you have to post 4376349658 new threads at once? Hahah.
I'm interested, sort of. I don't know enough about it yet, so I'll just wait for more information. I'm not sure I can commit to this, but I'll wait until I see more before I decide. =D

That's the point, you don't have to commit yet, but If you're slightly interested then let me know here. I would like to get at least 3 people to play eventually, and that means I'd like an interest base of 4 or 5.

i'd really like to try this rp-by-dice thing. tell me more how its played. like, u have a character and their actions (or plot) depends on the dice, correct?

For characters you can be whoever you want, within certain limitations of course. I'll be posting races, classes, and setting soon which will give you a taste of what's going on.
As for plot, I'm going to reserve until I get an idea of what kind of game you guys want to play. Let's seay everyone wants to be a Wizard, unlikely but possible, maybe you all are a council of mages or something like that working progressively to bring stability to a broken continent. It could be many things so therefore I'm reserving plot decisions for later.
Also, a basic basic form of how the dice works is that actions have a difficulty number, say to climb this particular wall it's 15. If your character wants to climb this wall he will roll the dice which is 20 sided, and then will add or subtract modifiers to it depending on his stats (which I'll explain in detail later, don't let yourself get confuised by the modifiers. If you are pretend there not there for now.) Therefore an element of luck, the dice roll, and your characters ability, the modifier, are a part of the going ons. If you get below you are unable to climb the wall, if you roll above you climb the wall. (There's also elements of say dramatic failure meaning you roll way below and not only are you unable to climb but you fall, or dramatic success where you could, per se, climb the wall in record time.)

!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's D@D 4E!!!!! Is it me, or do the new versions of the SWRPG and D@D really mess things up? In SW, "streamlining" means making it way harder to do multiple attacks..... I dislike the idea of limiting the amount of abilities you get in D@D 4E, but I would love to try it out. At some times, the SWRPG is kinda limiting, considering the settings... It's either go way off the storyline, or stick to it... but I'm definitely interested. My being able to play or not depends on a few things, mainly the amount of time I'll have to play. But to make sure I read this right, you do the dice rolls, right? We just say what we do and you tell us if it can be done, and if it works.

By the way, do you have D@D 3.5 as well? Another one of my decent sized list of 4E complaints is some of the species that were cut (No Halflings?!)(Not that they are my first choice anyways...)

Yes, I was a big time 3.5 lover, but I'm kind of enjoying 4e. I personally think it's a breath of fresh air, and is a little simpler which works better for our purposes.
Secondly, there ARE Halflings. That was a blatant lie, whoever told you. The only race they really cut were Half-orcs, and no one really liked them anyways. If you want to play a HONK orc I could add a templete (Complex stuff for all you who don't know. We will not be working with templates or monster characters. I do not know even how they work in 4e.)
